BEHIND THE LENS

I’m Alessandro Petrini, an Italian photographer, filmmaker, DOP and musician. My work moves between landscape, visual storytelling and selected commercial productions, with a strong focus on atmosphere, rhythm and cinematic language.

Over the years I’ve travelled extensively to create personal and professional work across Northern Europe, including Scotland, Norway and Iceland, as well as the Canary Islands — especially Tenerife and Gran Canaria — New Zealand, and parts of Asia, including China, Japan and Korea. These experiences have deeply shaped my visual identity and my connection with nature, light and storytelling.

I specialize in landscape photography and filmmaking, with a particular focus on time-lapse and hyper-lapse. Alongside my personal projects, I’ve collaborated with international brands such as Lamborghini, Roger Dubuis, Sony, Fujifilm, Sigma, ITA Airways, The Heat Company, Montura and Markbass, working across different fields from branded content to visual communication.

An important part of my work also lives on YouTube, where I share videos that combine visual storytelling, filmmaking, photography, behind-the-scenes insight and personal creative exploration. It has become a space where I can bring together both the technical and emotional side of my work in a more direct and personal way.

Sharing knowledge has also been a fundamental part of my journey. I’ve been teaching photography and filmmaking since 2004, and I was also invited as a speaker at Gems of the Outback in Emerald, Queensland, Australia.

Music has always been an essential part of my creative life, and it continues to influence the way I build images, edit sequences and shape visual narratives. I also compose original music both for my own personal projects and for selected client work, as part of a broader creative approach that brings image and sound together.
